Choir Season kicks off

The VPA choir season will begin in October, following the completion of the VPA's production of Disney's Lion King Jr. Keep reading for details on how to get involved plus some new offerings!

New Beginning Choir & Separate Intermediate Choir - Starting this fall, Beginning Choir will be open to 3rd-6th graders and we will be starting a separate Intermediate Choir for 6th-9th graders. No audition is required for either of these ensembles. 6th graders may choose which ensemble they would rather be in, based on preference and experience level. Students can also sign up to participate in the Beg/Int dance class. All students, please register here.

Auditions for Advanced Choirs - Auditions will be held in the fall. If you would like to be notified when auditions are posted, please sign up here. Only new students for Noteworthy, Notables, and Show Choir need to audition. Returning current members, please register here.

Music Theory & Musicianship classes - VPA was recently awarded a Sherwood Community Enhancement Grant to establish a Music Theory & Musicianship program. Does your child want to understand more about scales, chords, intervals and how music works? Do they want to know how to sight-sing, to read music better, or to analyze the chords they hear? Are they interested in the principles used for writing and composing music? Then these classes are for them. These are open to any students in the community but are highly recommended for VPA choir students.

Register Early - Registering early helps us plan class sizes, music and curriculum. Invoices will be sent in the Fall. - Thank you!
