The VPA Chorale is a mixed voice choral group for ages 16 and up. Members learn and memorize pieces of different genres, styles and cultures in a fast paced, yet friendly environment. Each session includes weekly rehearsals and concludes with a performance with the VPA choirs and other local musicians.
As each session is relatively short, we ask that you commit to 80% of all rehearsals, regardless of musical proficiency. Dress rehearsal and performance attendance are required.
Participation dues help pay for music, insurance, rehearsal and performance spaces, etc. Auditions are not required. Choral experience is preferred.

Rehearsals are Wednesdays 7:30-9pm at Marjorie Stewart Senior Center, 20197 SW Sherwood Blvd, Sherwood OR 97140
Dress rehearsal May 11. Performance May 12.

Chorale Conductor
Katie Gurney has been a private vocal instructor for over 30 years and has been conducting community and church choirs for 20. She studied vocal performance and pedagogy at Brigham Young University and has performed in local theaters, churches and wedding venues all over the USA, Berlin, Munich, London, and Israel. She LIVES for multiple harmonies coming straight at her, not great with chit chat while she’s instructing and is obsessed with diction. She’s not afraid of a little spit if it produces a well heard plosive.
