New Audition Information for 2012
Mid-year audition sign-ups are now available. The audition date for all potential choir members is Thursday, January 5, starting at 7 pm by appointment only at Sherwood High School choir room. Tell us you’re interested in auditioning here.
Sherwood Chorale
If you’re an adult auditioning for the Sherwood Chorale, please bring a prepared solo, your own music, and if possible, your own accompanist. You should choose a song that represents your vocal abilities well, and is in choral style, not pop music style. We’re looking for singers that blend well, have accurate intonations and rhythm, and can read music. In addition, you’ll be asked to sing some vocal exercises, including a major scale pattern. Please remember, we’re all doing this to enjoy the arts and have some fun, so we’ll do everything we can to make you feel at ease during your audition. Really… we don’t bite! Sherwood Children’s Choir and Notables Youth Choir
If you’re a child auditioning for the Sherwood Children’s Choir (4th-5th grade) or Notables Youth Choir (6-8th grade girls and boys), please come prepared to sing the first verse of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”, match some random pitches, and sing a few simple scales. Students will be auditioning in groups, and will not be asked to sing by themselves.

Footnotes
Footnotes is a choir for 6th-8th grade girls. A strong understanding of music, and experience on stage is needed, and dancing experience is desirable, but not mandatory. Singing in harmony, and being flexible in singing different voice parts is optimal.
